Field Application Engineer for Robotics

Duties & Responsibilities
Teradyne is a leading supplier of automation solutions for test and industrial applications. Teradyne's Industrial Automation Division comprises the most advanced collaborative robots and automation technology, to serve industrial customers throughout the world.
We are currently seeking an experienced, customer-savvy, technical support with deep product knowledge of devices used in Electro-Mechanical or Manufacturing or Robotics intensive environments. This or engineer to join our North Reading and Bedford engineering teams, which has a focus on developing and fielding new robotics applications. This new engineer would be the second line of support, dealing with advanced problems that can't be solved by local support.
This exciting role presents the opportunity for the right candidates to get involved at the forefront of robotics and automation technology.
Duties include:
Serve as the in-house expert on one or more of our robotic application products.
Diagnose and debug advanced robotic applications in the field.
Duplicate and debug advanced robotic applications in our local labs.
Work with engineering on reproducing and fixing problems, creating workarounds, and developing new tests.
Assist Sales Engineering in training customers, presenting at trade shows, and creating demonstrations for our our robotic application products.
Serve as the face of the company to customers.
Represent the customer in presenting problems and requests to the engineering and product management groups. Collaborate on planning new features.

Basic Qualifications, Experience, Skills & Education Required
BS Degree in ME and or Electromechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience
At least 2 years field application experience supporting industrial customers is required.
Experience with robotics or electromechanical systems preferred.
Basic programming experience required
Vision experience and understanding of optics is a plus.
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Knowledge of electromechanical systems and software applications preferred
Approximately 50% domestic travel required. 50% work in our Massachusetts facilities required.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
