Duties & Responsibilities
A key element of Teradyne's HR strategy is to create a global platform of development plans, processes and tools with a focus and impact on leadership development, culture, values, innovation and diversity of thought. With multiple generations in the company, Teradyne strives to meet development needs across those generations and various businesses, globally.
2018 was a standout year for both Teradyne as a company (with financial performance ahead of expectations) and for HR.
September's 2018 Organisational Health Survey had an exceptional participation rate and was above the 75th percentile engagement score. Two areas were highlighted as needing attention from Corporate ? L&D and Performance Management. Teradyne is seeking a new Global L&D Director to lead that charge.
Reporting to the VP HR, there are three key outcomes this new hire should achieve in year one:
Using the Survey results and by meetings with HRBPs, managers and employees, identify the Learning and Development priorities.
Based on the Learning and Development priorities agreed upon, work in-conjunction with Executive leadership to build a multi-year L&D plan, taking responsibility for the development, deployment and coordination of new and existing training programs for employees at all levels in the company.
Work with leadership and employees to review and revise Teradyne's Performance Management process.
Duties and Responsibilities
The Director will lead the advancement of leadership capability including key programs and processes such as; succession planning, talent reviews, assessments (360 and behavioural), executive coaching, team building interventions, executive on-boarding and the KPIs to measure success.
While this role is focused on the leadership pipeline, the position holder needs to be an innovator across the talent management spectrum, capable of designing programs that help manage talent holistically. The successful candidate will:
Lead different initiatives on key elements of HR strategy, fostering diversity, inclusion and driving innovation.
Promote a creative and exciting culture of learning.
Provide thought leadership for the design and development of talent management programs needed to ensure the agility of the organisation and the effective engagement of people.
Closely partner with the HR Business Partner community to deliver global and impactful development programs for the senior management population.
Own responsibility for Teradyne's L&D offerings for various business across the world.
Own leadership management of L&D systems, policies and processes including needs analysis, planning, budgeting, recording and reporting.
Be an expert in designing and/or procuring development programs, processes and tools for the leadership population.
Identify performance gaps and create solutions to improve individual and team performance.
In collaboration with employees and managers, develop a plan to make improvements in Performance Management process.
Create and own annual talent reviews and succession planning process and strategies.
Own future organizational surveys.
Assist or lead in the development of programs targeted at improving organizational effectiveness (for example org planning and design, decision making and empowerment, team cohesion and change management).
Contribute to the promotion of L&D throughout Teradyne, developing and improve learning approaches including through coaching and the use of technology.
Build and sustain productive relationships with external partners and other business leaders and stakeholders to support the efficient and effective operation of the L&D function.
Identify new digital solutions that address the learning needs across a mix of generations.
Work with subject matter experts to develop scalable learning solutions.
Manage internal pipeline development and nurture Teradyne talent pools, supporting high potential employees.
Track, monitor and report the related metrics, evaluations and impact of solutions.
Design and build a new interface with the onboarding function, presently owned by Talent Acquisition.
Risk and Control: ensure that all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with Teradyne's regulatory requirements and internal policies.
Basic Qualifications, Experience, Skills & Education Required
Bachelor's Degree required. Masters, MBA preferred.
A minimum of ten years of experience in the development and deployment of learning activities for employees.
Mastered facilitation skills, including business skills training relating to communication and interpersonal skills, presentation skills, leadership and management skills.
Adept at building rapport and building effective working relationships with people at all levels.
Demonstrate a high level of resilience and sense of wellbeing.
Strong project and program management experience.
True ability and experience to work with geographically dispersed stakeholders.
The ability to embrace and drive change.
Organized with strong analytical skills.
Excellent stakeholder management skills.
A strong track record in working with blended learning.
Being cognizant that technology is transforming traditional L&D processes (the move away from intensive full day courses to self-serve, bite sized game / video driven applications).
Strategic thinker that gets things done.
Effective communicator and influencer with outstanding writing, editing and verbal communication skills.
Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical team members.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
