North Reading, MA, US The Customer Support Applications Engineer will work independently to assist customers in the use of Teradyne related products, provide new product design input, develop training material, instruct internal and external engineers with existing products, and publish application notes for instrumentation and system use cases.
The Applications Engineer should have a broad familiarity with Teradynes Analog, Bus, Digital and High Speed Subsystem Instrumentation.
Primary responsibilities include direct contact with Sales, Customer and Engineer experts to familiarize and resolve customer issues with typical instrument use cases.
Conduct specialized training classes for both hardware and software related activities.
Develop instrument problem reports and work with engineering to resolve.
The Application Engineer will represent the users interest in new product design.
The candidate will possess good communication skills and be able to work in a dynamic cross-functional environment.
The candidate will work with the Product Support team, Program team, Engineering team, and Sales, and interface with the Customer including providing inputs to technical presentations, telecoms, leading formal reviews and training.

Responsibilities:
As a Customer Support Engineer, you will take part in the following
Responsibilities:
Complete Test Program Set (TPS) development activities, from conceptual stage through life cycle of product, including planning, development, testing, and integration.
Interpreting test requirements and documenting the complete test solution Ensure customer requirements are met and processes are followed Track changes made to hardware, software, firmware, documentation, test fixtures and test documentation throughout the delivery cycle Work closely with customers and/or functional peer group managers Follow standard engineering practice and procedures.
Analyze data, and design hardware/software solutions for which industry standards exist.
Debug a Functional Test Program utilizing Teradyne instrumentation such as, eDigital, FIOXI, PBI, M9, DI, BTI and ATI.
Utilize software tools such as, TPS Converter Studio, LASAR, TestStand, LabView, LabWindows CVI, ATLAS and Test Studio in efforts to support our Customer Integrate input from various sources to propose solutions Communicate periodic project assessment to internal teams and external customers Devise innovative techniques for testing and characterizing leading edge technology Identify trends in customer requirements to help guide the development of new Teradyne ATE instrumentation Desire to work with customers and field applications group to solve testing challenges Travel to customer sites to support pre-sales opportunities, training and final integration Critical Success Factors:

BS or MS degree (Electrical or Computer Eng/Science) and 3 years of experience in Test Development Engineering or Application Engineering Must have excellent verbal, written, organizational, analytical and PC Skills Understanding of the software development life cycle process Proficiency of ANSI C programming languages Prefer knowledge of C#, C++, or graphical environments like TestStand or TestStudio Familiarity with the L200/300, Spectrum 9100, Teradyne Digital Instrumentation and LASAR Simulation Travel requirements may be 20% or greater Key Relationships :
