Organization & Role The Innovation Lab is an advanced R&D team that is part of the Semiconductor Test Division at Teradyne. We a dual charter to technically support the growth of the division and company:
1. Create long term differentiated solutions for our core Semiconductor Test business by exploring new technologies and architectures to be applied against current and emerging key requirements for our customers. 2. Working with our Business Development Office, develop differentiated solutions to new business opportunities that are relatively adjacent to our core business. These will generally enable new businesses within our existing customer base. Responsibilities The Innovation Lab Optical Engineer will work as part of a cross functional product development team to develop optical test instrumentation for emerging markets within semiconductor test. Instrumentation may include imaging systems, illumination sources, optical sensors, and fiber-optics, along with motion systems, cameras, and image-analysis software. Specific Duties Include:
Contribute to the design of new optical test instrumentation working with the senior optical and systems engineers. Design verification of new optical instrumentation in the lab and integrated into optical test cells to verify new products meet their target functionality and specifications. Develop and verify instrumentation calibration and test processes to be used by both customers and Teradyne manufacturing Basic Qualifications & Skills At least 3 years working experience in optical engineering with a mix of design and lab experience. The candidate should have broad technical curiosity and be highly versatile in multiple optical technologies. Knowledge of related technical fields such as mechanical engineering, motion systems, materials science, electronics, semiconductors etc would be beneficial. Education BS Optical Engineering or Physics, MS preferred.
Salary Range:
$80K -- $100K
Minimum Qualification
Hardware DevelopmentEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
