Organization & Role The Senior RF Technologist role is an exciting and highly visible opportunity within the Teradyne Systems Engineering organization to work with an interdisciplinary team to set the vision for Teradyne's RF roadmap. This is a key technical and leadership role which requires a detail-oriented individual who has excellent analytical, interpersonal and leadership skills including a strong technical background in RF design and test in the frequency range covering precision AC applications to greater than 100GHz millimeter wave. This role will provide the opportunity to interface regularly with the Product Line Architecture teams as well as mid-level and senior management. As an RF Technologist you will work closely with Marketing, Applications, Design Engineering, other Systems Engineers as well as customers to define the RF instrumentation roadmap. You will be responsible for tracking the latest and future trends in RF testing across the industry, defining next generation product architectures, overseeing product requirements across the entire RF portfolio, helping to define the strategic vision for the RF product roadmap that aligns with Teradyne's long-term business objectives, advocating for and advancing the strategic vision by working with the Product Line Architecture teams, mentoring other Systems Engineers on the latest RF technologies and test techniques. Responsibilities Contribute to RF Product Line Architecture team as a core member with the goal of establishing the RF roadmap strategy and ensuring its execution Work with marketing and instrument development teams to define RF products that support the RF Product Line Architecture. Continuously interact with customers, applications engineers and users to understand customer roadmaps and collate use cases that translate to requirements. Continuously track, understand and synthesize the implications of evolving RF standards to the RF roadmap (IEEE, 3GPP and others) Maintain current deep technical understanding of the latest and emerging trends in RF system design by representing Teradyne at vendor technology exchanges. Aid other systems engineers in the capacity of technical RF expert as we collaboratively execute the Product Development Process Define RF architectures and ensure designs comply with the architecture, perfuming extensive trade-off analysis at key decision points during the product design process. Analyze and recommend appropriate feature / specification / cost / time to market trade-offs. Author white papers on new/emerging test methods, architectural directions, and technologies. Basic Qualifications & Skills 15 years engineering experience working with RF products or technologies, or 10 years experience with MSEE or PHD. Expertise in RF circuit design, RF systems design/analysis, calibration techniques, and fundamentals of RF test. Extensive understanding of common and advanced RF measurement techniques and tools such as signal generators, spectrum analyzers, vector network analyzers, modulation, demodulation, and various wireless standards (802.11, 3GPP, etc.) Ability to perform with high degree of self-direction Ability to perform effectively, operating with the high degrees of ambiguity of a fast-paced, evolving market landscape Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Excellent analytical skills Strong leadership skills Advanced knowledge of Excel, VBA, and other Office tools Experience with Matlab, C++, Python or equivalent modeling/analysis software Experience in the semiconductor industry is a plus Ability to travel domestically and internationally approximately 15% Education Education Bachelor's Degree, Master's Degree or PHD in Electrical Engineering or equivalent #LI-DG This position requires employees to be fully vaccinated or subject to weekly testing for onsite access.
Salary Range:
$200K -- $250K
Minimum Qualification
Systems Architecture & Engineering, Hardware DevelopmentEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
